Join a minimum 4v4 match in Arena Commander (FPS mode). Your evaluator tracks your kills and deaths over a full match or until the KR threshold is met. You need to finish with at least a 3:4 kill ratio — 3 confirmed kills for every 4 deaths.
Before the match, your evaluator reviews your loadout and settings: iron sight usage, armor selection, keybind layout. Not a hard pass/fail gate — it's to make sure you're not fighting the game's defaults and are set up to succeed.
The 3:4 KR threshold is achievable even if you're new to FPS games. Focus on staying with your team, picking isolated targets, and not overextending.
Armor matters more than weapon choice at this level. Light armor gives mobility; medium armor gives survivability. Pick based on your playstyle and stick with it.
Ask Marines-division members for practice scrimmages before your eval. Post in #marines on Discord. We run informal matches regularly.
Callouts win rounds. Even if your aim isn't sharp yet, calling enemy positions makes you a valuable team member and evaluators notice that.
M(1) grants you the Recruit Marine role in Discord and access to the Marines division channels. From here you pursue M(2) — the next step on the path to full Enlisted rank within the division.
Marines advance through M(2) to reach Enlisted rank. Higher certifications — M(★), M(★★), Operator — are available after Enlisted. Those are long-term goals. Right now, focus on getting through M(1) and M(2).
