Who We're Looking For
Before you invite anyone, make sure they match the profile. We want people who:
- Are 21+ (18+ for friends of members — with judgment)
- Play during on-hours — 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST or later
- Are genuinely interested in competitive or organized play — not just looking for a discord to idle in
- Can handle losing with grace and winning without gloating
- Are low-drama, salt-free, and self-aware
Your Reputation is on the Line
When you refer someone, you're vouching for them. If they cause problems, that reflects on you. Be selective. It's better to have fewer members than to lower the standard.
The Recruiting Process
- Identify the person — Someone you've played with, a friend, or someone who reached out with genuine interest
- Initial screening — Have a real conversation. Do they play during our hours? Do they understand what we're about? Are they drama-free?
- Point them to Discord — Send them the Discord invite (discord.gg/TQjtEHjTbB) and our RSI org page
- Introduce them — Let leadership know who they are and how you know them
- They start as Recruit — They'll need to earn L(3) to reach Enlisted. Point them to the Logistics division first
Handling Outside Orgs & Affiliates
Not everyone who wants to play with us needs to be a full member. Here's how we handle other relationships:
Affiliates
Players from outside orgs/guilds who want access to play with us occasionally. Affiliates have reduced Discord access compared to full members. They must adhere to our rules during joint ops.
Ambassadors
Org leaders or designated coordinators from established partner organizations. There is one ambassador per org. Ambassadors get access to the ambassador channel for their respective game and coordinate joint operations on behalf of their org.
Affiliate Changes (RG 2.0)
Under the 2.0 revamp, affiliates will have reduced access to Discord and events. Ambassadors are limited to one per org to reduce coordination complexity. The goal is to decouple casual external relationships from full membership, keeping the org's core tight and focused.
What Not to Do
- Don't invite people you barely know just to boost numbers
- Don't promise things leadership hasn't approved
- Don't bring in players who you already know are drama-prone
- Don't skip the screening conversation — it matters
