We are a well-organized, mature gaming group built for competitive play, real friendships, and endgame PvP. Here's what that actually means day-to-day.
Rune Guard is a Star Citizen organization rebranded in 2021 from Warbird Squadron, originally founded in 2019. We are a tight-knit, mature group that values competitive gaming, PvP, and endgame PvE — while keeping a real-life-first balance. Active without being overbearing. Serious when it counts, relaxed when it doesn't.
We attract mature players who value their time, maximize their enjoyment, and embody good sportsmanship — fair-minded, cheat-free, low-drama, salt-free gameplay. If you want a group where people show up consistently and actually play well together, you fit here.
We're not just looking for skilled players — we're looking for the right kind of person. Someone who:
We've been running three organized events per week almost uninterrupted since founding. That kind of consistency is rare — and it's something we're proud of.
Every rank in our Star Citizen divisions is earned through a structured certification path — not seniority or favoritism. Marines, Squadron, and Logistics all have their own tier progressions with real skill requirements.
We run like an organized operation — clear divisions, shot callers, and event structure — without the rigidity of mil-sim culture. We set standards, then get out of the way and play.
Rune Guard is built around North American working adults. Our primary on-hours start at 6:00 PM PST / 9:00 PM EST, any day of the week. We also run occasional midday weekend sessions.
We've maintained a three-event-per-week schedule since founding — Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 9 PM EST, typically running three hours.
| Night | Event | Focus |
|---|---|---|
| Tuesday | TNT — Tuesday Night Training | Training, certifications, and skill development |
| Thursday | Ops Night | PvE, industry, and money-making activities |
| Saturday | Main Event | PvP, fleet operations, competitive activities |
Our visual branding draws from Norse mythology — the Valknut emblem, runic inscriptions, and a cosmic/nebula aesthetic in deep purples, blues, and reds. It's not cosplay; it's a frame. We carry the warrior ethos without taking ourselves too seriously.
