04 / RANKS & PROMOTIONS

Every Rank is Earned

Rune Guard has a two-track rank system: the org-wide membership structure, and the in-game Star Citizen certification tiers. Here's how both work.

Rank / Promotion Art

Rune Guard rank insignia, Norse-inspired design, dark space background, red glowing accents, cinematic portrait crop, digital art

Org Rank Structure

These are your membership ranks within Rune Guard as an organization. They determine your access, voting rights, and standing in the community.

RankDescriptionRequirements
Recruit Entry level for new joins. Focus on onboarding, activity, and basic participation. Join Discord & RSI org
Enlisted Full member rank. Receives full access to all organizational resources and events. Must earn L(3) or supported game equivalent
Guardsman Advanced member rank with voting rights. The highest non-leadership tier. 6 months active, sponsored by an active Guardsman, 70% anonymous approval vote

Promoting to Guardsman

This is the only rank that requires a formal process:

  • Must have six months of active membership — hard requirement, no exceptions
  • Must be sponsored by an existing active Guardsman
  • Must pass Admin approval
  • Must receive an anonymous majority vote (70%+) from existing Guardsmen

All Guardsman roles are hidden — any Guardsman can volunteer for org leadership roles.

Inactivity Policy

6-Month Auto-Demotion

Inactivity over 6 months triggers auto-bot demotion from Enlisted to Recruit.

1-Year Auto-Demotion for Guardsmen

Inactive Guardsmen for 1 year are automatically demoted to Enlisted.

The Banner System

When you play Star Citizen, your RSI profile should display the Rune Guard banner. Here's how it works during on-hours:

CBC = Case By Case. "On Hours" = Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday evenings. "Matching" = the activity matches our intended playstyle.

SC Cert Recertification

All Star Citizen certifications must be retested every 6 months unless waived by a Gold Badge officer in your division. This keeps the org sharp as the game evolves with patches.

Other Games

Any Guardsman can lead a chapter of Rune Guard in another game — they just need to be a moderator. Chapters must align with the org's competitive ethos.
